- Artwork scale:
- Set your design at its intended size within a 4 x 4 inch chest area. Choose the left or right chest position. Ask our design team for placement help.
- Stitch file:
- Submit original artwork; pre-digitized stitch files are not accepted. We digitize the submitted design for production at no extra charge.
- Design requirements:
- Use bold shapes and clear lines. Avoid tiny details, photographs, shadows and gradients; these need to be simplified into solid stitched shapes.
- Lettering:
- Use letters at least 0.25 inch high with strokes at least 0.05 inch thick. This is roughly 24 pt, depending on the font; check actual letter dimensions.
- Fonts:
- Simple sans serif lettering is easier to reproduce. Check script and decorative fonts carefully for small gaps and thin strokes. Outline text in a PDF or embed the fonts.
- Stitch density:
- Each design is limited to 10,000 stitches. If your artwork exceeds this limit, we may ask you to simplify or revise it.
- Contrast:
- Choose thread colors that stand out against the sweatshirt color so the logo remains legible.
- Adult unisex sizes:
- Small, Medium, Large, X-Large and 2X-Large.
- Measurements:
- Ask us for the current garment measurements before ordering. Size names alone do not establish chest width, body length or sleeve length.
- Size breakdown:

- Recommended DTG artwork is 14 x 16 inches in portrait orientation; embroidery artwork is 4 x 4 inches. Designs are reduced as needed to fit every selected garment size. Check the placement and scale on your proof.
- Safe zone:
- Keep important text and logos at least 0.125 in inside the confirmed decoration boundary. Allow additional clearance from seams, the collar and ribbing as needed for the garment.
- Printed artwork:
- Supply separate artwork for the front and back when ordering both. Use readable lettering; avoid print text smaller than 12 pt as a starting guideline, and check the proof at actual size.
- Embroidered artwork:
- Prepare a simple design for the left or right chest. Follow the Embroidery Guidelines for lettering, solid colors and detail.
- Resolution:
- Use 350 dpi at final size for both DTG printing and embroidery.
- Color mode:
- Use RGB for this garment artwork. Screen colors and thread colors may differ; review your proof carefully.
- File formats:
- Upload PDF, PNG, JPG or TIFF (TIF). Export EPS, AI, PSD, BMP or GIF source artwork to a supported upload format. Outline or embed fonts in PDF files.
