Frequently Asked Questions
What can I use a booklet or catalog for?
Use a booklet to bring related information together: a product collection with descriptions and prices, an event program, a class guide or a company introduction. Plan sections around what readers need to find and give each spread a clear purpose.
Why print my booklets with Minute Marketing?
You can choose from three finished sizes, four inside papers and separate cover options. Our team can help you plan the page count and prepare the files. Contact us before ordering if you need help matching your design to a binding or paper.
How do I order a custom booklet?
Choose your finished size, inside paper, cover, total page count and binding, then select a quantity. Count four cover pages in the total, including their inside surfaces. Contact us about multi-page artwork setup before placing your order.
Which booklet size should I choose?
The 5.5" x 8.5" size suits compact programs and short service guides. A 6" x 9" booklet adds space while remaining easy to carry. Choose 8.5" x 11" for larger photos, charts or detailed product descriptions. These are finished page sizes, not open spreads.
How much does a custom booklet cost?
The order page displays sample pricing as you choose your size, paper, cover, page count and quantity. These are mock prices for now. Contact us to confirm a production quote before making plans around a budget.
How do saddle stitch and perfect binding differ?
Saddle stitching uses staples through the fold to hold the sheets together. Perfect binding glues pages into a cover and creates a flat spine. Saddle stitch is offered for 8 to 96 pages; perfect binding starts at 48 pages and goes up to 96. Page counts include the cover.
Which papers work for a catalog?
Gloss Book comes in 80 lb. and 100 lb. weights for photo-heavy pages. The 80 lb. Matte Text has a low sheen, while 70 lb. Opaque Smooth White is uncoated. Choose Self Cover to use your inside stock throughout, or add a separate gloss, matte or uncoated cover. Book and cover weights use different scales, so matching pound numbers do not mean matching thickness.
Can I see paper samples before choosing?
Contact us to ask about paper samples before choosing your stocks. Tell us which inside papers, covers or bindings you want to compare so we can confirm what is available.
How should I send my catalog artwork?
Prepare a print-ready PDF with pages in reading order, including blank pages and all cover surfaces. Contact us before ordering to confirm how to supply the complete multi-page file. Perfect bound covers need a layout matched to the spine width; confirm that width before finishing your cover design.
Does my booklet artwork need bleed?
Yes. Extend backgrounds 0.125" beyond the trim on every edge and keep text at least 0.125" inside the trim. Leave extra space near the binding so details do not disappear into the spine. Confirm the cover template and spine width for a perfect bound booklet before exporting.
When will my booklet order be ready?
Contact us with your size, page count, binding, quantity and deadline so we can confirm the schedule. Artwork approval and shipping both affect the delivery date. Allow time to check every page before approving your files.
Full-color catalogs and booklets
A printed catalog lets customers browse a collection at their own pace. Use full-page photographs for key products and short descriptions beside the details people compare. A booklet also keeps service information, event schedules or class listings together in one place.
Three finished page sizes
Choose 5.5" x 8.5", 6" x 9" or 8.5" x 11". Start with the amount of information on each page. A compact guide needs concise text, while a letter-size catalog gives photos and product tables more room.
Inside paper and cover choices
Compare gloss, matte and uncoated inside papers. Self Cover uses the same stock throughout; a separate cover gives the outside a heavier feel. Two UV options are available on the 14 pt. gloss cover, so you can choose which cover surfaces receive the coating.
Choose a binding around your page count
Saddle stitch booklets use folded, stapled sheets and start at eight pages. Perfect bound booklets have a glued spine and start at 48 pages. Both go up to 96 pages. Count the cover and blank pages, and choose your total in four-page steps.
Plan the complete file before printing
Check page order, margins and image resolution before exporting your PDF. Extend backgrounds into the bleed and leave room near the spine. Our team can help you confirm the cover layout and multi-page file setup before you order.
