- Bleed:
- Extend backgrounds 0.125 in beyond the confirmed print boundary. Mug capacity is not an artwork dimension; confirm the printable area for your selected 11 oz or 15 oz mug with our team before building the file.
- Resolution:
- Use images at 300 dpi at the final print size.
- Color Mode:
- Prepare artwork in CMYK. Screen colors and the mug's surface can affect how printed colors appear.
- File Formats:
- Print-ready PDF preferred; PNG, JPG and TIFF are also accepted. Flatten image layers and embed or outline fonts in PDFs.
- Safe Zone:
- Keep text, faces and logos at least 0.125 in inside the confirmed print boundary. Leave important details clear of the handle area and any wrap join.
- Black Mugs:
- Discuss dark backgrounds and image contrast with our team before finalizing artwork for a black mug. Review background edges and image visibility in the proof.
- Artwork Placement:
- Confirm the print area, design orientation and handle position for the selected size and mug type. Remove guide lines and template layers from the final file.
- Proof Review:
- Upload artwork after checkout. Check spelling, image quality, color, size and placement in your proof before approval. File corrections can affect scheduling; contact our team to confirm timing.
Use the File Setup tab for bleed, safe zone, resolution, color mode and accepted file formats. A high-quality JPG can keep a photo file compact; flatten image layers before exporting and avoid repeated JPG compression.
