- Choose your size and orientation before preparing the artwork. Extend the image through the bleed and keep faces and lettering away from the edges and rounded corners.
- Upload your artwork or request help through Design For Me. Review the crop, text and image detail in your digital proof before approving the order.
- Bleed:
- Extend photos and backgrounds 0.125" beyond each trim edge. This adds 0.25" to the finished width and height.
- Safe zone:
- Keep text, logos and important photo details at least 0.125" inside the trim edge. Allow extra room at the rounded corners of the 5" x 5" plaque.
- Resolution:
- Use 300 dpi at the final print size. Start with the original photo rather than a small preview or screenshot.
- Color mode:
- Prepare artwork in CMYK. Screen colors can differ from the finished print.
- File formats:
- Print-ready PDF preferred; PNG, JPG and TIFF are also accepted. Flatten image layers and embed or outline fonts before exporting.
- File size:
- The default upload limit is 50 MiB per file; follow the limit shown in the upload window if it differs. A high-quality JPG can reduce the file size of photo-only artwork.
- Plaque layout:
- Prepare one front design at the selected size: 5" x 5", 5" x 7" or 8" x 10". Rotate the rectangular layout for landscape. Keep mounting hardware and cut guides out of the printable design; no folding, hole drilling or custom die-cut option is offered.
- Proof review:
- Check the crop, orientation, resolution and lettering in your digital proof. Nothing prints until you approve it. Ask our team about file issues before approving.
- Order timing:
- File corrections and proof revisions can affect when the order is ready. Contact our team for production and delivery estimates for your order.
Match the artwork to the plaque dimensions before upload. Review all edges carefully so the bleed does not remove an important part of the photo.
- 5" x 5" square:
- Prepare a 5.25" x 5.25" file including bleed.
- 5" x 7" rectangle:
- Portrait: 5.25" x 7.25" including bleed. Landscape: 7.25" x 5.25" including bleed.
- 8" x 10" rectangle:
- Portrait: 8.25" x 10.25" including bleed. Landscape: 10.25" x 8.25" including bleed.
Use these dimensions to build your own layout. Extend the background to the file edge and keep important content within the safe zone described in File Setup.
For photo-only artwork, a high-quality JPG can keep the upload smaller. Flatten image layers before export. PDF, PNG and TIFF are also accepted; embed or outline fonts in PDF artwork.
