Print file checklists
Check the content, then check the file. Use the quick list for flat products and a product checklist for anything that folds.
Bleed: extend backgrounds 0.125 inches beyond trim. Trim: the finished cut edge. Safe zone: keep essential details at least 0.125 inches inside trim.
Diagram is a guide, not a scale template.Quick check for any print file
- Match the ordered size and orientation. Check every side and page.
- Extend backgrounds 0.125 inches past every outside trim edge. Keep essential text and logos at least 0.125 inches inside trim and clear of folds. Avoid thin borders that make small cutting shifts more visible.
- Check image quality at final size: aim for 300 dpi for these products. Use CMYK unless the product setup specifies otherwise.
- Embed fonts or outline text, include placed images and check transparency in the exported file. Export as PDF, PNG, JPG/JPEG or TIF/TIFF.
- Read every panel at actual size. Verify spelling, phone numbers, addresses and QR codes. Remove visible layout guides from the final artwork.
- Upload clearly labeled files for each side. Review the proof for panel order, rotation, size and finish, then approve it before printing.
