- More Info:
- For a writable inside, choose 14 pt. Uncoated or 14 pt. Gloss with UV coating outside only. High-gloss UV protects the surface from wear, but coated areas cannot be written on or printed over.
- On 14 pt. Gloss, UV is applied to full-color sides unless outside-only coating is selected. A blank or grayscale inside receives no UV coating. Outside-only UV may create a difference in brightness and color between the two sides.
- 100 lb. Matte Cover uses matte aqueous coating. On 16 pt. Premium Matte, choose matte aqueous or high-gloss UV outside coating. Rush production is available for selected stocks; the order form filters the choices without promising a fixed production date.
- Raised UV and raised foil are offered on 16 pt. Premium Matte. Choose gold, silver or rose gold for raised foil.
- High-gloss UV gives a shiny surface; aqueous coating has a glossy appearance; matte has a flat, low-reflection finish. Writing is unsuitable on UV and is not guaranteed on aqueous-coated areas. C2S means gloss coating on both sides.
- For handwritten appointments, names or notes, choose 14 pt. Uncoated and test your pen on a spare card.
- Gloss adds shine to photographs and color graphics. Use uncoated stock when writing is part of the design; do not rely on a glossy surface to accept ink from your pen.
- Coated and uncoated papers reflect light differently, so the same artwork can look brighter on gloss and softer on matte or uncoated stock.
- Choose a paper surface for its own appearance: matte for a subdued finish, linen for texture, or pearl for shimmer.
- Review the available quantities and sample total for your selected stock on the order form before adding cards to your cart.
- Cover refers to card stock; book and text weights describe thinner paper. This product uses cover stocks. Paper affects quantity availability: linen, kraft, pearl and smooth white offer 25 through 2,500; the standard and 16 pt. matte stocks offer 50 through 100,000. Contact us before placing an order outside these stock ranges.
- Avoid dense dark ink across large areas of uncoated paper when a lighter layout will work. Allow handwritten ink to dry before stacking cards.
- A folded card can introduce your business outside and hold service details, appointment reminders or a compact menu inside.
All of our paper stocks are premium quality and printed in full color.

- Bleed:
- Extend backgrounds 0.1" beyond every outer trim edge. A 3.5" x 4" open spread becomes 3.7" x 4.2" with bleed.
- Safe zone:
- Keep text and logos at least 0.125" inside the trim and at least 0.125" away from the center fold.
- Resolution:
- Use 350 dpi images at final print size.
- Color Mode:
- Prepare artwork in CMYK. Screen colors may differ from printed colors.
- File Formats:
- Print-ready PDF preferred; PNG, JPG and TIFF are also accepted. Embed or outline fonts and flatten transparency in exported artwork.
- Folding and panel order:
- Send a flat outside spread containing the back and front cover, plus an inside spread if printing both sides. Keep fold guides out of the printed artwork. Fold a paper mockup to check the panel order.
- Horizontal orientation:
- Use a 3.5" wide x 4" high spread with the fold 2" from the top. It closes to 3.5" wide x 2" high. Check which outside panel needs rotating on your folded mockup.
- Vertical orientation:
- Use a 4" wide x 3.5" high spread with the fold 2" from the left. It closes to 2" wide x 3.5" high. Check the cover, back and inside reading direction together.
- Upload limit:
- The current artwork upload limit is 50 MiB per file. Contact us if you need help preparing a smaller print-ready file.
- Specialty print files:
- Supply your color artwork and a separate, aligned solid-black mask identifying only the areas to receive raised UV or foil. Use crisp vector shapes where possible; avoid gradients in the mask. Keep all raised elements away from the final trim edge. Ask our design team to check the mask before production.
- Proof choices:
- Review and approve an instant online proof, or request a manually reviewed PDF proof. With an instant proof, check every file yourself; no additional manual proof is included. Manual review checks print specifications, with revisions requested when needed. Production follows proof approval.
- Included processing:
- Pricing includes processing one artwork set and preparing one proof. Check your order status in your account. Incorrectly prepared files may delay production; contact us for help before submitting.
- Proof review:
- Review spelling, images, trim clearance and panel orientation in your digital proof. Approve the proof before printing; incorrectly prepared files may need revision.
- Size and orientation:
- One open size, 3.5" x 4", closes to 2" x 3.5". Plan either a horizontal or vertical layout using the measurements in File Setup.
- Preparing artwork:
- Build outside and inside as separate flat spreads. Embed or outline fonts; flatten transparency and export a print-ready PDF, PNG, JPG or TIFF. Check 350 dpi, CMYK, bleed and safe zones before uploading.
Use the free design examples on the information page for inspiration, then contact our team with your logo, text and orientation for design help. Ask for setup guidance for square or rounded corners; keep critical artwork clear of the corner radius. Flatten layers in your exported artwork. File Setup covers the required dimensions, bleed, resolution and color mode.
- Open and folded size:
- Build a 3.5" x 4" flat layout for a horizontal card that closes to 3.5" wide x 2" high. For a vertical card, rotate the spread to 4" wide x 3.5" high, closing to 2" wide x 3.5" high.
- Panel order:
- Prepare one spread for the outside and another for the printed inside. Fold a paper mockup to check the cover, back and reading direction before uploading.
- Printed sides:
- Outside-only printing leaves the inside blank. For a printed interior, choose grayscale inside or full color on both sides and provide both spreads.
- Bleed and safe area:
- Extend backgrounds 0.1" beyond each outer trim edge. Keep text and logos at least 0.125" inside the trim and clear of the center fold.
- Artwork quality:
- Use images at 350 dpi at final size, prepare color artwork in CMYK and embed or outline fonts. A print-ready PDF is preferred.
Review spelling, contact details, panel orientation and inside printing in your proof before approving the cards.
