- The two 14 pt. gloss cover options differ in where UV coating is applied: all cover surfaces, or the outside front and back only.
- For runs of 250 or more, 80 lb. Gloss Book, 100 lb. Gloss Book and 100 lb. Gloss Cover receive aqueous coating. Runs of 100 or fewer on these gloss stocks are digitally printed without coating. Paper choices can vary by quantity.
- Count all four cover surfaces and any blank pages. Upload one PDF in reading order after checkout, and review every page of your proof.

- Saddle Stitch:
- Two staples through the center fold hold the sheets together. Choose 8 to 96 total pages, in four-page steps.
- Perfect Binding:
- Pages are glued into a wraparound cover with a flat spine. Choose 48 to 96 total pages, in four-page steps.
- Counting Pages:
- Include the front cover, inside front cover, inside back cover and back cover, plus every inside page and any blanks.
- Self Cover:
- Your chosen inside paper is used for the cover as well. A separate cover adds a heavier stock around the inside pages.

Supply a PDF with individual pages in reading order. Keep important content clear of the fold. For perfect binding, confirm the spine width and cover layout with our team before exporting the cover file.
One sheet has two printed sides, or pages. For a perfect bound cover, the spine depends on the number of inside pages and the actual paper thickness. Cover pages are excluded from the inside-page count; a 48-page booklet has 44 inside pages. Use the approximate spine references above, then confirm the final cover dimensions before printing.
- Bleed:
- Extend backgrounds and images 0.125" beyond every trim edge. A 5.5" x 8.5" page needs a 5.75" x 8.75" file including bleed; 6" x 9" needs 6.25" x 9.25"; 8.5" x 11" needs 8.75" x 11.25". Swap width and height for horizontal pages.
- Safe Zone:
- Keep text, logos and page numbers at least 0.125" inside the trim. Leave additional room at the binding edge so important details stay readable.
- Resolution:
- Use 350 dpi images at the final printed size.
- Color Mode:
- Prepare print artwork in CMYK. Screen colors can differ from printed colors.
- File Formats:
- PDF, PNG, JPG and TIFF are accepted artwork formats. For this multi-page product, combine the complete booklet into one print-ready PDF for upload after checkout.
- Page Order:
- Export individual pages in reading order, starting with the front cover and ending with the back cover. Include inside cover surfaces and blank pages. Do not impose printer spreads.
- Fonts and Layers:
- Embed or outline fonts and flatten artwork layers before exporting. Check transparency effects and image quality in the exported PDF.
- Binding and Cover Setup:
- For saddle stitch, use a total page count divisible by four. For perfect binding, confirm the spine width and wraparound cover layout with our team before exporting. Keep critical artwork away from folds and the spine.
- Instant Online Proof:
- When choosing an instant proof, inspect every page carefully before approval. This option does not include another proof review by our team.
- Manually Processed PDF Proof:
- We check your file specifications and contact you about problems, then send a PDF proof for your approval. Review page order, spelling, trim and cover placement before approving.
- Hi-Res Hard Copy Proof:
- A physical color proof is available for an extra charge. It is printed on large proofing paper and shipped rolled, rather than bound as a finished booklet. Check, sign and return your approval before production. Ask our team to arrange this proof and its shipping.
- Proof Allowance:
- Pricing includes processing one set of artwork and preparing one proof. Files that need corrections can delay production. Arrange delivery with our team before sending artwork on physical media; proof processing starts after the files arrive.

- If your complete PDF will not upload, contact us to arrange how to supply it before placing your order.
