- Use simple shapes, outlined fonts and a transparent background for embroidery; confirm thread colors on the proof.

Send PDF, PNG, JPG or TIFF artwork at 300 dpi in CMYK, at the intended decoration size. Supply separate files for front and back printing. Crewnecks and pullover hoodies offer front, back or both; full zip hoodies offer back printing only.
Use a transparent background for artwork that should show the garment color. Keep text and logos at least 0.125 inch inside the confirmed decoration area. No paper-style trim bleed is needed.
Review the proof for placement and scale across garment sizes. Screen colors can differ from colors printed on fabric.
File requirements: send PDF, PNG, JPG or TIFF artwork at 300 dpi in CMYK. Outline text in a PDF and use a transparent background when the garment should show through. Thread colors are confirmed on your proof.
Keep the design simple: use bold shapes and readable lettering. Fine lines and tiny text can fill in; photos and gradients need simplification for stitches.
Remove unwanted white rectangles before saving; a background left in the artwork may be treated as part of the stitched design. Choose left or right chest placement; back embroidery is not offered.
- Formats:
- PDF, PNG, JPG or TIFF. Embed or outline fonts in PDF artwork.
- Resolution and color:
- 300 dpi at the intended decoration size, in CMYK. Thread colors for embroidery are confirmed separately on the proof.
- Bleed:
- No trim bleed is needed for garment decoration. The 0.125 inch bleed used for trimmed paper products does not apply to sweatshirts.
- Safe zone:
- Keep text and logos at least 0.125 inch inside the confirmed decoration area. Confirm dimensions and placement with our team before finalizing artwork.
- Placement and files:
- Send separate designs for front and back printing when selected. Full zip hoodies offer back printing only. Embroidery is left or right chest only.
- Backgrounds and garment details:
- Use a transparent background when the fabric should show through. Keep artwork clear of seams, pockets and zippers; review placement and scale for all garment sizes on the proof.
Sweatshirts do not use folding, hole drilling or die-cut artwork guides. Review your artwork and size breakdown before approving production.
